feeling Gray? Baby F's Nursery

So I finally got some time to take some pictures of the baby's nursery. It has been so rough at the Fick household due to everyone being sick, but luckily we are starting to get  over this rough patch!!

Ok now on to the nursery!

I wanted to make his room not too babyish, but at the same time bright, clean and light. For some reason I fell in love with the color gray, and I wanted to use it and pair it with some light colors so I decided to go for Gray and Blue with some splashes of yellow!! I love it!

Hubby did all the painting and I think he did an amazing job!!!

here are some pics, Hope you all like it!

so proud  of my husband for doing this wall!

my brother's girlfriend gave me these pictures from Etsy, I think they are Adorable and go perfect with the room

The Sickies:(

I have been Wanting to post the baby's nursery, some updated pictures of Austin and his basketball season, and of course some new ones of our little princess, but unfortunetly it has been a never ending cycle of germs and sick people at my house!!

Let's start with three weeks ago(which seem like years ago!) Austin had Strep throat but he got medicine for it, Kayla also got tested, but luckily she was in the clear. The meds helped Austin and he was feeling a lot better or at least I thought he was, until one day(can't even tell you the exact day because they all run together) I picked him up from school and he was complaining about a headache and sure enough later that night he had a high fever, so after another visit to the doctors we found out he had the flu:( unfortunately there was no meds so we just let it run it's course, well after 4 days he felt much better and went back to school, I had a girls day with my sister and Kayla seemed to have gotten away without catching anything from her brother.

Wrong!!!! While shopping and enjoying my girls date with my sis, I noticed some Braxton hicks coming closer and stronger.. Umm contractions? I didn't think so but I still called my doctor who told me to just go straight to the hospital, well that would of been fine but a couple of minutes before I called my ob, I got a call from Austins school saying he had to be picked up due to a 102 fever!!! Not only was I having contractions, but I was having major anxiety about traffics and picking up my son from school and Kayla from the babysitter!!! I ended up not Doing either, and just headed to the hospital while Justin picked up the kids!!!

Ok so long story short I was at the hospital for 4 hrs contracting but not dilating and since I was only 36 weeks they weren't going to stop it or induce me so they just sent me home. Unfortunately while being at the hospital I learned that Kayla had started her fever:(.. And after taking Austin back to the doctors/ hospital we found out that his flu had led to phnemonia!!!!

My poor and amazing husband was trying so hard to keep the house together while taking care of the kids and trying to make sure his wife didn't get sick. Well he must have done great job because I didn't get sick besides a little congested but no fever! I did however have a very pregnant moment and cried for about 15 minutes straight!!! I was just so worried about my kids and hoping that this baby will stay in longer until his family got better

So after lots of strong Meds for Austin and cold remedies for Kayla, I could now say that they are on the road to recovery! Tomorrow I will be 38 weeks and according to my doctor I'm still 2 cm dilated so I'm hoping my kids will be perfect,y fine by the time this baby arrives!!

Sorry for the kong post but these past couple of weeks have been so hard! Seeing your babies sick is the hardest part about being a mommy!

I will try and post pictures of the nursery soon

baby sprinkle/35 week progress!!!

So this past weekend, my wonderful sister threw me a baby shower brunch, it was more of a sprinkle! Justin and I have usually done co-ed showers that turn out pretty big with both of our friends combined, so  This time we kept it simple, small and just for the ladies

Im kind of mad I didnt get to take that many pics, but it was a really good time, and I got a lot of essentials that I would need for our little boy!

35 week update!

so technically I will be 36 weeks this Thursday .. YIKES!!! (its getting so close I cant believe it!) but I had my first weekly appointment today and I'm 1.5-2cm dilated!!!!!!!! which of course doesn't really mean anything because I can be like this for weeks(crossing my fingers to make it to 38 wks!), but I'm just a little shocked that I'm already dilated this early. My water broke with my other two and I was only 1cm when it broke and I stayed 1 for long hours so I guess my body goes into labor just fine, but it takes a while to progress, lets hope for a shorter labor time, but when I'm full term! don't be getting any ideas little one! I will love for you to cook a little longer :)

here are some pics of the shower

my friend due 2/27 and me due 3/10! both expecting boys!

snow day

We finally got some real snow last week, The news kept talking about a blizzard and or snow storm coming to the East Coast, but for some reason it always passed by us and we got ice cold rain or a little flurry here and there! I love warm weather, but with all this fuss about snow I just wished we had a big blizzard where we all get snowed in and have lazy days just drinking hot cocoa while we all snuggle and watch movies. Well I guess my wish came true, we didn't get have a blizzard or anything =, but it was definitely  enough to have the kids miss school for half a week and for driving conditions to be scary!

I took the kids out to play and it was basically Kayla's first snow that she would remember because she was too young last year, umm I wouldn't say she loved it but was definitely somewhat interested

I love my daugther and of course I think she is adorable, but she reminds me of Ewok from Star wars in this picture :)

Pregnancy Update: 34 weeks

I have been soo bad at documenting this pregnancy! I feel awful because this one is just as important as my other two, but I never thought running around a toddler while having a big belly and being mommy chofer to my 7 year old could be this exhausting, I need to step up my game and stop whining because I read all these blogs of super moms out there with multiple kids and are still keeping up with their blogs! So Francis, you need to get it together! :)

OK So about my updates, here is a little survey, but I must add that overall this pregnancy has been pretty easy, with the exception of my stomach bug at the beginning of this year, and the fact that I'm recently now getting lots of braxton hicks along with some pressure which makes it very uncomfortable
  • How far along?: 34 weeks 5 days
  • Total weight gain: 21lbs. but I have been eating so much junk food lately, so well see how much more Ill weight till my next visit
  • How big is baby?: Approx 5 lbs! he is getting so big :)
  • Maternity clothes?: Yep well all pants but I have a lot f non maternity strechy shirts
  • Stretch marks?: no new ones :crossing fingers::.
  • Sleep?: What's that??
  • Best moment this week?: starting up the nursery and having the kids help daddy with it!
  • Movement?: plenty of it! specially at night
  • Food cravings?: any sweets.
  • Labor signs?: Getting lots more Braxton Hicks. And they're getting progressively more uncomfortable/slightly painful.
  • Belly button in or out?: in, but it it never came out with my other two, so I doubt it will come out this time
  • What I miss: This little thing called sleep. I seriously can't wait to be able to be on my back or stomach again!
  • What I'm looking forward to: my sister is throwing me a sprinkle brunch this saturday! and for the nursery to be done
