Kayla Grace is here!

Thursday August 13th ( a day before my due date) I finished my day at work, and was a little anxious and bummed out because at my last doctors appointment there was still no progress of dialation or effacement. I decided to get Austin, go home and just relax with the family, after a nice warm bath and a yummy dinner I put Austin to sleep, then just sat in bed while playing on the computer, when all of a sudden a gush of water just came running down my leg! since my water broke with my first pregnancy I knew that this was not pee,and it was water! I yelled out for my husband who was downstairs watching football and told him that this was it! we were going to see our baby girl real soon.

We then headed to the hospital after taking Austin to our sister in laws house. My water still kept coming but so far not much pain yet, my doctor came in to check me when I was in triage and she said I was still only about 2cm dilated and that my cervix was still pretty high up there:( I finally made it to the delivery room, and my doctor ended up ordering pitocin to speed up labor since I had already lost so much water.

The pain started getting very intence but still bareable, and I really wanted to try to do this the natural way, so I was trying to hold off on the epidural as much as I could.Well that didnt last too long because around 4:45 am I couldnt not take the pain anymore I really just wanted to scream and cry!the pain was so intense and I had so much preassure I couldnt take it anymore, Justin called the nurse in to order the epidural, and I felt like it couldnt get here any faster, once the epidural was in the nurse checked my cervix again just to see any progress, and she literally just gave me a weird look and said "ummm, her head is down and I was ready to push".. I was a little confused because my doctor had just checked me right before the epidural and I was only 3cm,so I went from 3cm to 10cm in 10 to 20 min. since I had just gotten the epidural my pain had only gotten down from a 10 to a 7, but my doctor came in and got everything ready for me to start pushing. Everything was going so fast, it was kind of surreal, I ended up pushing for about 10 minutes until I saw our beautiful bundle of joy! I was in labor for about 6 hours, everything just happened so fast but it was such an amazing feeling to meet this little person that you have been loving for 9 months and waiting for her arrival. Kayla Grace made her debut on her due date at 6:04am 7lbs 3oz 19in
