Spring has Sprung!

This weather in Northern VA was amazing this weekend! actually it was the second weekend in a row where the weather was nice, so we decided to go to one of our local parks after church on sunday  and have a little family picnic!Soccer and Baseball season are getting ready to start, and I know that will take up most of our weekend, so we have to take advantage of our free weekends to relax as a family!

Dylans first time going down the slide
he loved it! although this picture seems a little different
Seeing these two interact and play together is music to my ears!

 My cousin and her family

we actually met this dog last weekend when we went to the park also, but I had to put a picture up because he was huge but so friendly, he was actually a show dog!

The Pinterest Challenge

I stumbled upon a great blog the other day, Cassie from Hi Sugarplum and a couple of other great bloggers were having a link up pinterest challenge party, so I decided to join in!

I am currently very addicted to pinterest , and find myself getting lost in that website and trying to pin lots of cute ideas/recipes/outfits/crafts you name it! well, this challenge is so that we can stop sitting and pinning and start doing! we had to pick one of our pins and turned them into reality!

I decided to start with something easy and fun! since I have been on this organizing kick lately (different post) I decided I wanted to get my daughters pretty hair bows in an organized and pretty place. well after looking at Etsy to buy one, I decided to look at pinterest to get a tutorial on how to make one.

This is the picture of my pin, which was originally from this blog  Baby Making Machine

She actually had the same colors that I wanted to use to coordinate Kayla room, so it was perfect!

Here are her bows on this little basket (just thrown in there) she actually had a lot more but because of the lack of organization who knows where they ended up

This is what you need
frame
fabric
super glue
ribbon

all you do is cut the strips of the ribbon the length of the picture frame
then you cut the fabric the size of the frame
glue the ribbon inside of the back of the frame
Glue the fabric to the board of the frame and place it behind the ribbons
and here is the finish product!

here they are with some of her bows

Welcome to Seussville! Dylan's is 1!

We had a wonderful weekend with family and friends celebrating our little munchkin. The theme of his birthday was Dr Seuss inspired, of course I spent tons of hours on pinterest and etsy for inspirations and I must say, I had a blast trying to put his party together! It was actually perfect timing since Dr seuss celebrated a birthday a week ago, it made it really easy to find tons of stuff for it!

I got my main inspiration from this blog  Little pumpkin Grace hudson too, I had actually ordered most of my stuff on etsy from modern Bebe design and then found the blog above and realized that she too had ordered from Modern Bebe I guess great minds think a like! Kim, from modern bebe was amazing to work with, if you ever need any party items make sure to check her site out!

here are the birthday pics -
my hubby and MIL made this # out of fabric and foam (it turned out great!)
Many thanks to my wonderful SIL who made these adorable cookies for favors
